The LearningWell Coalition is dedicated to advancing higher education to ensure every student is prepared to flourish in work and in life.

Our Vision

Every college student should graduate with a sense of identity, belonging, agency and purpose, laying the foundation for a lifetime of wellbeing, fulfilling relationships and meaningful work.

Our Guiding Principles

WE ARE EVIDENCE-BASED

The Coalition’s work is grounded in research showing a link between certain experiences in higher education and lifelong flourishing and wellbeing. These experiences, including emotionally supportive mentoring and experiential learning, are the elements of a learner-centered education and are at the core of all the Coalition members’ projects. Further, the Coalition is dedicated to demonstrating the value of these initiatives by producing and disseminating evidence showing their effectiveness in improving outcomes.

WE VALUE SCALABILITY

The Coalition aims to bring transformational educational experiences to every student. In practice, that means: 1. Our members are working to expand the reach of their initiatives to as many students on their campus as possible, and 2. We encourage collaboration between members and with non-member institutions to extend student-centered ideas and innovations across the higher education landscape.

WE'RE FOCUSED ON LONG-TERM IMPACT

The Coalition’s focus extends beyond the prevailing metrics of graduation rates and years to degree attainment. Because we believe that it is not enough for students to leave college with a degree alone, we are working to lay the foundation for lifelong flourishing beyond the college campus.
